Ok I am driving my self nuts on this one.... do I save 500 bucks and stick with SS or go for the ss+ package...... Back ground... 7 years Auto-X experience mostly in the Atlanta Region..... I have run BSP and ASP in rear drive cars and FSP in a fwd VW.... my main concern is understeer..... I know ss+ adds a big 24mm front bar but I could go to the 19mm bar from a ss car.... But so far no one knows if the ss+ changes the spring rate balance front to rear???? or is the ss the way to go to get less understeer...??? The fact that the prosolo champ (Brian) used ss+ and the GRM Mini was SS makes things even harder.... as far as I can tell the setups are very close...

I am going to test drive a MINI with the wife this weekend and if I am inclined to order right away I would love to have some feedback from others....

This MINI will be for a Nationals effort...BTW

Well not much feedback here but my decision is made.... My cooper is on order ... only options I went for were Sport Seats.... and.... the SS+ option... I drove an example of both and even with the huge front sway bar I belive the + suspension will be the ticket for Autocross.... My main reasoning is the stiffer setup up front will help minimize camber change on this negative camber challanged car

Man,I go to lunch and someone posts in my favorite forum and then answers himself. This is what I have found out and have planned for my H Stock Topeka Trophy Fodder MINI.
I bought a rear sway and springs from a MCS. The sway is larger and the springs are stiffer. I can do this legally under SCCA rules because the SS+ consists of the sways, front and rear, springs and struts. The SS+ option is the same as the MCS suspension, and since the struts and front sways are changeable under the rules, I get the best of SS+ and the advantage of regular suspension (smaller front sway). Now all I have to do is install springs myself, and I work cheap! I will call my suspension package SS+(-). Now where did I put the number to Koni...

Although you're already committed, you might try to find out what options Mark Chiles has on his Mini. If there's any national driver that'll research options to death--that's him.

BTW: Good luck!
