OE Options for Stock Class Racing?

3rd time is a charm. I have posted in two other forums with out success. So...Simply put, I want to race my '02 MCS in a stock class. I bought my car used, and no very little about OE options that were offered in 2002 when it was first sold. Because BMW/ Mini offered so many OE options and packages,I thought there might be options I would like to retrofit, but I have no idea what was offered. Where can I get a list of options offered in 2002? I have gotten little or no help from the Mini Dealer. Perhaps there is another source?

I hope this isn't the same response you've gotten on the other forums, if so, sorry..
What kind of options would you be looking to add for racing? I might think that the only one that might interest you would be the Sports suspension, but I am not sure about 2002. What else would you think make your car quicker on the track?
If you have a sunroof, then remove it and put a non sunroof skin on instead. that's about 50 lbs savings on the roof alone.
Have you checked the SCCA rules (if you are in fact doing SCCA)? Can be had on line, as you may already know.

DOH... maybe wheels are another thing to check on I guess...

You have an MCS so there are no suspension options. The only option that affects the performance of the car is the sunroof and even that is not a huge problem unless you are at the very top of the game.

All the other options were comfort based; seating surfaces (not seats), climate control, Nav, etc.

The Wheel options were 16x6.5 or 17x7

What exactly are you trying to find out? More specific questions get you more specific answers.

Here is a list of things you can change

All of that stuff is available from the aftermarket. So back to your question about retrofitting factory options to your car... my advice is to forget about it. Your car is what it is. If you are a beginning autocrosser and you have a burning desire to spend some money, buy a Schroth harness to hold you in the seat and then find out if there is an Evolution Driving School being held within a few hours of your location and attend. Then do all of the local autocrosses you can get to. After that you will be in a better position to start spending money on shocks, wheels, tires and the like.

Thanks all for your replays. There isn't anything I am aware of to retrofit. The purpose of the "list' would be if I had overlooked something that might be a advantage to have equipped. With out the knowledge of the available options, I probably would not know this. Thanks for helping me understand what was available. I have a SCCA rule book and have read it (numerous times). It is my MCS that is new to me, and I am trying to get the car sorted out before the season starts here. I am rejoining the Solo II group after being away from it for about 15 years. Heck autocross classification rules, as I knew them, have changed quit a bit. Thanks again. JD

Jim, Check out the latest edition of Grassroots Motorsports. It has a really good article about getting MINI's prepped for SCCA Stock Class Autocross. Your main option as far as OE parts is concerned is the front sway bar. Some are using the non Sport Suspension anti roll bar. It's 1.5mm smaller than what comes on your MCS.

Good Luck with the car.
