Thinking of trading my MINI in. How soon after I make the deal do I have to turn in my current car for the new one? The other car is a CPO on the lot ready to go.

I have many aftermarket parts that I want to put on the new car (or sell), but I need to know how much time I have to take everything off.

I drove the same car for 17 years, only driven this MINI for 4 years, and this would be my first trade-in so I don’t know how it works. I’m sorry if this posted somewhere else on the board but search didn’t turn up anything helpful and I don’t have a lot of time at work to research this.

 

That is something I would think your dealership would know.. Im sure it varies a bit.. When I ordered my new MINI I didn't trade in my older one till of course my new MINI was ready at pick up. By that time is when you trade it in. But are you trading in and picking up at the same dealer?

 

Yes, at the same dealer.

 

Well then at the time you make the deal or pick up your new car is when you will trade in your current car. Of course that's with making all the arrangements prior. If you have things that you want to take off your current MINI you will have to have those off of course before the trade. They are usually easy to work with on this. Just talk to them and work out a time that works best for both of you.

 

Unless you have a special arrangement you will leave your old car and drive off with your new car. Any changes you want to make to the old car you want to complete before you go pick up the new one.
