Thought that I should put something here, too, in addition to the New York/New England Regional area.

Anyway, for you bored autocrossers up north, why not come out and play on ice? Check out http://www.boston-bmwcca.org for information on this season's Ice Racing schedule. Basically, it's an autocross with the pavement replaced by a frozen lake. Car classes are set by drivetrain configuration and tire type. Low key and a lot of fun.

Hope to see you on the ice.

I used to do ice-knanas, and short events on ice in my youth. Should be happening in Wisconsin, Minnesota and Canada. Best training you'll ever get!

Sorry you made the trip for nothing (I've done that before, myself).

The Ice Racing Bulletin is at http://www.boston-bmwcca.org/events/bulletin.asp?type=2

The status of each scheduled event is also announced using the Boston Chapter Hotline (781) 894-8766. Typically they make the call on Saturday around noon if there'll be an event the next day.

There's also an e-mail bulletin you can sign up for through the Boston Chapter BMW CCA website.

There are lots of "scheduled" dates in the hopes of getting 5 or so events in. Mother Nature is very fickle.
