FREE track time!!! Yes, you heard right. FREE!

ProAutosports has invited all Mini and MINI owners to bring out their MiNis to Firebird International Raceway January 30th and 31st. Yep, free track time and also free racing school.

Check out http://clubs.hemmings.com/clubsites/amo/track013004.pdf for all the juicy details.

See you there!!

Do you think they'd be willing to move the track to Pennsylvania in the next month?

This sounds pretty cool. This will make up for the cancellation of the Vegas track day.

Remember it's free because they're trying to sell you on their racing program.

They try to hook you by giving you free track time. Then if you take that bait and sign up as a member, then you can take the driving school (a $175 value) using the coupon you received when you did the free track time. Now they're really hoping to show you what they're all about and how they run their racing while you're in the driving school. Remember, racing is very addicting.

A few things they forgot to mention in the flyer:

Try to bring a racing helmet. They do have track loaners...but everyone else wore those loaners too...ick!

No open toed shoes/sandals on the track.

Be sure to put about 5 psi more in the tires than you normally would for regular street driving. If you run 33psi, then put 38 psi in, etc.

I just want to you all to know to be sure to check out the PDF to fully understand who's invited and why. ProAutosports grows their membership by hosting groups like this. It's good for them and it's good for us. Both parties win.

This is not a free-for-all type of event. It is organized and you must adhere to their rules. This is not an "OPEN" track event. There will be other people there to race in their divisions, so we will be allowed on the track at certain times.

This is great opportunity to allow you to take your Mini or MINI on a race track and see if club racing is something you'd enjoy doing long term. Be forewarned, racing is VERY addicting.

Just got this comment from a person coming to the track day. I think its a really good idea!
We are instructed to be there before 8:00am to gain
access to the Infield. I was wondering if you and others want to meet
before 8:00am (around 6:45am) at Krispy Kreme, 5009 S Arizona Mills
Cir. Tempe (South Parking Lot). It's just off I-10 on Baseline and
minutes from Firebird. A caffeine and sugar boost may be just what we
need!
