Check out the videos - this is a horsepower race. Only 22 turns in 5.2 miles - all fast sweepers, no MINI twistys. Subaru WRX Sti's and Mitsu EVO's will rule.
But if I had to pick a MINI for this one, it would be Longboards 1800cc stroker car. 350Whp and 262Wtq all on the top end. Big intercooler and oil cooler. Bryan, do you have the stones to do this?

my guess is the big guy won't see this thread
I haven't rubbed his bald head in a few days anyways
Craig, what you don't know is what's been done /being done to Ian's car over the winter
I think it already is
Is this the race like or known as the silver state classic? If so IIRC you go in a class set by an average speed. It's a mostly straight flat road so going faster then the speed isn't hard it's making sure you hit the exact average mph on the head. I know someone who won their class a number of years ago and the key was knowing the exact distance and therefore the exact time you need to run. Don't really need a fast car, just good timing equipment.
Again, that's if this is the same as Nevada Open Road Race or silverstate classing, can't remember the name.

and I wouldn't dream of putting a turbo on it
Thanks for the vote of confidence but after doing a bit of research I am positive that both ME and my Mini are set up for a much tighter course
I really appreciate the thought though.

This is not the Silver State Classic. This is a re-titled Virginia City Hillclimb, in which Hwy 341 up to Virginia City is closed down. You can read more on the history about it here >>
