Ran across two sad article about two proposed racetracks in California, one in Merced the other in Lancaster. The one in Merced was supposed to be the world's largest motorsports park in the wolrld, featuring a road course identical to the now defunct Riverside Raceway, plus every other motorsport venue. That project is dead due to costly litigation with enironmental groups, even though the EIR was approved. And the one in Lancaster is barley at the draft environmental impact report stage and already facing evironmental concerns from NIMBYs. Here is the info:

and they wonder why street racing is on the rise, they dont give of a place to run our rides!!!

 

Move to Texas. There have been two new tracks open in the last three years.
