Death of a Caterham

Saw this today......and it rang more than a few bells, and thought I would share....

For anyone who has had to say "Good Bye" to a car I think you will find this of interest....

"The brave little girl had such a life. Victories, defeats, thrills, adventure, lots of stories. As a tragic end befell, as she dove one last time toward the light, her life flashed before her headlamps."

Notice some of the cars he is PASSING......and towards the end....watch the track the last 5 seconds....carefully!

Boy that is just terrible. I'm sure that isn't going to buff right out, but it just may be fixable. I hope so at least. That video is a very good lesson of why to stay belted in your car until it is safe to get out. That fellow is lucky, could have been road kill. Yikes!

WOW - yeah, he's lucky he's not DEAD.

Never, ever, never get out of the car on the track until someone flags you do to so.

Agreed, in the event of a crash...is safer INSIDE the car...(Unless it is on fire...)

He got lucky twice in one day....

Hope he learned his lesson. I certainly learned it from this video.

Seems like at even a Track Day they should have Flagmen around blind high speed corners. The 3rd car around should not have crashed, if he was safely informed via "Yellow Flag" by a Corner/Safety Worker. Reminds me of the high speed bend after the oak tree at VIR, that one is not a blind one, seen Porsches take it flat out and lose it just like the Nail did.
