225's or 215's for NT01?

Hello! Currently I've been doing track days on our street tires (215/40R17 Azenis on Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2) and my skill level is finally up to par to move to r-comps. I have picked the NT01 as per the recommendation from some of my track buddies. They come in either 215/45R17 or 225/45R17 and these will be going on a set of Rota SVN 17x7.5 +45. Do you think I should squeeze the 225's on there? Will I need a 5mm spacer?

Oh I should also mention I have the Detroit Tuned 17" BBK up front and the Team Dynamics 17x7 +45's clear it just fine.

Another side note we're going to change up our alignment settings... tell me what you think!

Old Settings:
-2F, -1R Camber
1/8" toe out rear

New Settings:
-2.25F, -1.5R Camber
1/8" toe out rear

Mods: http://www.rspeed.org/forums/garage-21.html

Thanks!

I run 225/45/15 Nitto NT-01s on 15 X 7 TD1s.

You have to be the judge of the alignment settings. I set mine based on how the car feels and how the tires wear.

They would fit the rim, and depending on how wide they actually run they could also fit the car. The thin with 225s though is that it is going to hurt you gearing a bunch. I was so glad to get my 225's swapped out with 215's. It is like having a new car as far as acceleration goes.

If gearing is your concern you should be running 15 inch wheels.

I suspect that he kissed this option goodbye when he swapped in the bigger brakes.
