So a few years ago there was one guy in the rally-america or back then SCCA pro rally series that ran a MINI for a number of events. I think the car was wrecked, but I am unsure about this... Does anyone know who this was??? I have been thinking on selling my current Mitsubishi rally car to build my 04' R53... I would like to hear what he has to say about the car... For the most part the car seems stout, but would need some reinforcing the front towers and maybe frame rails... Also I would need to spec a new set of dampers that will be a bit loner, but this is no real issue...

Any info would be nice...

Iam not sure who it was but a year or so a ralley web site had kevlar plates made for the under side of a Mini. As for stout have you seen the Mini that lost it in the Targa New Foundland? With the cage the guy stated you could open and shut the doors after his off. Let us know what you find and when you get the car done- great idea!

Do a search for user "enrike" 's posts. He campaigns an R50 (supercharger not allowed in class) in the Quebec (Canada) Rally e championship. He could let you know what he's running as far as dampers.

BTW, the frame-rails are very strong. I could send you a video/pictures of how we know.

Thanks for the input... I will do some searching... I will ask a friend who runs at many of the CRS (canadian rally series events)... The car would be an easy build for sure... I had plans to build some dampers soon, but have yet to get around to it... I run a business building, specing and doing shock tuning work outside of my day job as an engineer... The one company I build for has a double adjustable mini spec, but I have yet to see their race spec for the car... The rally spec would be all new..
