Tire Recomendations..

Anybody have an opinion on the Nitto NT 01 as an all around tire, ie autox & track day tire?

I will mostly be doing autox this year but would really like just one set of wheels/tires to contend with for both. I know the Hoosier A6 is hard to beat but it not's going to be all that great for a track day, right? I won't be doing any where near enough track days to want to buy the R6...

The Nitto is attractively priced but from what I've read it doesn't get up to temperature on a autox course....

Toyo RA1?

Thanks for any info...

careful - the RA-1 has a treadwear rating of 100. that means the ST* classes cannot run that rubber (min 140)

Not to worry, I'm in SM! And I already run the RA1 but they were used and old when I got them. I just ordered another set of rims from 949Racing to be a dedicated autox set with the possiblity of using them at an HPDE event so that is the reason I'm looking for a little advice...

The NT01 is a great track tire. As for running it on the street as a main tire, I'm not sure. I'd love to hear some input as well. My main concern would be the tires being "Over heat-cycled" so they were just hard chunks of rubber. Even 5000 or so miles on the street would be touch considering the hundreds of heat cycles the tires would have to endure.
