Just looked at the latest entry list for the Wendover Pro Solo. Wow!!! What a great field. Knowing most of the drivers and cars entered in HS I can only imagine the competiion will be fierce. I even see that Mark Chiles and Jeff Jacobs are driving out from North Carolina for the event? Not quite sure what that's all about but as far as I'm concerned, the more the merrier.

I can't wait for the event, there's always been something about Wendover that intrigues me. Maybe it's being out in the middle of the desert, maybe it's being right next to the Salt Flats. I can't quite figure it out, I just know that whenever I go there I always have a great time....Anyway, see everyone there.

Here's the link to the event.......It looks like registration is closed but if you've never been to a Pro Solo and would like to watch some very fast cars drag racing with turns you should check it out. It's a lot of fun to participate but I'd even say that a Pro Solo is entertaining to watch....Look for my car if you come out. I'll show you around and let you know what it's all about.

Best day to go would be Saturday.....Everyone runs in a morning and afternoon session so there's a better chance of seeing all the cars run.

We'll be there with the TEAM MCO car. We'll have a blue EZ-UP tent so be sure to come by and introduce yourself. It would be great to meet everyone! I expect that we'll arrive mid-day Friday so that we can participate in the 3-5pm practice launch session.

See you in Wendover!

Whatever you do bring shade and water. It'll be hotter than hell there. I won't make it as I'll be up in Minnesota. But next year for sure.

I can only tell you what happened in HS. Michael Butler won HS by pulling off an amazingly fast time on the left side course(43.6 vs 44.1 being the next fastest)......Mark Chiles came in 2nd with consistently low times on both sides. I think Lorin Mueller came in 3rd with his Focus, Jeff Jacobs 4th, Keith Brown 5th, Myself 6th and a CRX 7th.....I think that is right but I could be wrong. I'm waiting for results just as much as you are. I do now that it was a fight to the end....Lots of fun.....

That is correct. Michael Butler didn't stay for the Challenger round and Mark Chiles finished Second overall.

This is by no means the oficial results but what we could remember:

SS: Dietz, Kotzian (I could be wrong on this)
AS: Isley, Matthew Braun
BS: McKee, Saini
CS: Udeau (sp?), Chase
DS: Bauer, Youngers (cone problems, raw times were there)
ES: Brown, Clements, Daniels?
FS: ???
GS: Goeke, ???
HS: Butler, Chiles
ASP: Thomason, someone from CSP
DSP: Butts, Fauth, Taka Aono (FSP), Fletcher, Michael
ESP: Schotz, ???
STS: McCormick by a ton
STX: ???, ???, ???, Mason Thomas (only 0.5xx behind, made it to 2nd round of
open challenge!)
SM: Tunnell by a TON! Amazing to watch his normal 3.2 M3 keep up down the
straight with the supercharged 3.0 M3s.
F125: Harrington, ???
L1: ???
L2: Yoshi (FSP), Neidel-McKee (DSP), Kathy-Bob!!! (DSP)...huge, tough class,
Kathy came back from 7th or so on Sat. to move up to 3rd!

That's all we remember right now. The reason the results aren't up, though,
is that Paula Whitney was having huge, catastrophic computer problems before
the weekend even began.

TeamMCO finished 4&5 in STX a little disapointing but not too bad considering that we only got our camber plates put on 5 days earlier and spent the weekend setting up the car. By the Chalenge Rournd the car was dialed in... A little too late.

Good work Mason!
Did you ever get the brakes to firm up? (I saw a device in the Truechoice catalog that is designed to maintain the pressure to the calipers to shorten the pedal travel distance, basically a one-way check valve for the brake lines. I wonder if that might help?)
Did Tunnell make may changes on your test day last Wednesday at SCR?

>>Did you ever get the brakes to firm up?

The brakes are "ok" at best they work but thy're still not as "crisp" as we'd like them. Once we got out to Wendover we decided to swap out the Carbotech's and switch back to the stock pads. We decided that the stock pads felt a little better (why, we're not sure) so we used them for the weekend. I'm going to call Carbotech and have a talk with them to see what they have to say.

Tunnell helped us out, we ended up softening the rear shocks a half of a turn. He thought the rear was a little too loose. The problem is however, Second Creek Raceway and an autocross course aren't exactly the same animal. You hardly ever aproach a turnaround on an autocross course at 100 mph.
