The picture kind of says it all - our good friends, Will Atkinson and Nick Papayanis were running in the Targa Newfoundland this year. In fact, they were running 3rd overall and first in their class! Not bad for their first year out.

Unfortunately, a house got in their way... Ugh. I'm glad they're okay, but I can't imagine what they are going through mentally.

"Well, it's friday morning and I have smashing news. As in, physically smashing.

Yesterday we hit a house. For real. It was the second stage of the afternoon leg, heading through Garnish and Nick was driving. We were looking good and made it through the right hander that caught a 944 Turbo out last year, sending him for a swim, but the next immediate right was covered with loose dirt and we got in a bit hot, locked up and slid straight into a house.

As it turns out, it's the same house that an E36 M3 hit last year. We didn't hit it as hard as they did, but we hit it hard enough."

 

If it's my house and it gets hit by a car two times in two years, I'm either selling it, moving it, or putting some padding on the side of it.

 

I thought a house on a golf course would be bad...

Seriously, why do the organizers persist in running the course through this area?

YUP, if it were my home you can surely bet that I'd be installing some armco around this portion of it!
