Leather or Leatherette?

So all this time I have been thinking I have leather seats but someone said they were the leatherette ones. Can someone confirm this please? I didn't buy the car new so I am clueless. Thanks and oh yeah, MERRY XMAS!!

This looks like leather. If you don't happen to have the buying paperwork, there are threads around here to get the original option list for your vehicle if you give them your VIN, I'd recommend that, regardless.

I believe those are the "punch leather" seats.....i.e. REAL leather. That was (still is?) an upgrade option from the regular leatherette as was the Lounge Leather option (which is what I have).

Merry Christmas to you as well!

That's definitely leather. The leatherette offered on pre-2011 R55, R56, and R57 models has a two-toned gray color scheme, and 2011+ models' leatherette is solid black. Your car has striping which neither version of the leatherette offers. Hope this helps!

Leather has a distinct/signature smell that leatherette can never replicate...in short, SMELL IT

At first glance it looked like the Cloth/Leather seats in carbon black like we have in the JCW. Do you have the same material on the seat bottom and back as on the bolsters?

Yes, those are the carbon punch leather seats. The same thing I have.

My leatherette seats also don't have the lumbar support. So if they have lumbar then they are probably leather? If I would have none that then I would have gotten leather like I had in my first mini.
