I recently received my 2012 JCW Coupe and noticed that the "secret compartment" door didn't have the JCW checkered decal. Am I right in thinking it's supposed to be there, as per REALOEM, or is there something I don't know about why they are installed?

 

Yeah, I was going to mention that because I saw another 2013 build that didn't have that.

 

The first rule about the "secret compartment" door is that we don't talk about the "secret compartment" door.

 

After I found it open when my last MINI got broken in to, I decided it wasn't so secret.

 

Tis why we don't speak of "secret compartment" door...

 

 

 

From what I have heard is that the dash must be red to have what you

are talking about. My 2012 R58 JCW has the MINI Yours dash and it does

not have it.

 

I have the same issue with my 2013 R56. I immediately emailed my dealership when I got home and noticed it. A week later and they're still looking into it. For the record I have the red dash.

 

(EDIT: I have a 2013) If I plug my VIN in to REALOEM it says Fluid Silver Dash has one color of decal, and all non-fluid silver has a different color, that's the only color specific information. At least I think that's what all of that says.

 

I have red dash too and I do not have the sticker.

My 2012 Clubman JCW is a March 2012 build and came with the sticker. The interior photo in My Gallery shows it and color combo of dash.

 

Any update from the dealer?

 

My MA finally informed me that sticker is not included with the red dash. Apparently, since 12 JCW has it, that's new for 2013. Maybe they eliminated it for all 2013 JCW's. It was never the most expensive looking add-on sticker.

 

I think the trade off is that the steering wheels now have the JCW logo on it.

I have a 2013 Coupe with a red dash,without the decal,i removed the JCW Logo from the boot, and placed it on the glove box. Really dresses up the interior, and looks like it should have been there all the time. Q PS I no longer own the Clubman,cannot figure how to remove the picture.
