With JCW package for the S models you only have Silver Challenge wheels available as an option. Black Challenge are only available to order on the factory JCW model cars. Does not make much sense to me but that is how the packages are set up.

Hey James, when do you think yours will go into production? I'm hoping to order mine by the end of this week. Mini has agreed to buy back my 2008 "S", I'm just waiting to see the final numbers.

They are giving me a completion date of Sept 5th. The MINI OL shows that it is scheduled for production, but it has been that way since 7/27. That seem to give me delivery in mid Oct, 11-12 weeks from order to delivery.

Are you going with the PW/CR with black cross spoke challenge wheels?

I WAS going to go with the Eclipse Gray/Chili red with the black wheels, but MINI just gave me the number for buying back my current 08' "S", and all they are offering is normal lowball trade in value. Totally shocked.

BTW, the black cross spoke challenge wheels are now included in the new build site as a n/c option

Thanks. No added noise with the drilled rotors!

I haven't noticed any noise with my drilled/slotted rotors, either. Heres how I keep my black challenge spokes looking good: before I wash the car, I spray the wheels with a home made solution of dish soap and tap water, scrub with a bottle brush and proceed to wash the car. Then I spray and wipe down with any protectant such as Armor All. This gives it a satin finish that looks good for several days. Being black, I've noticed that they don't really look too bad even when quite dirty (as opposed to other mags I've had in the past).

I use Sonax Full Effect and a Griot's Garage wheel brush.

As a side benefit I still giggle every time I use Full Effect after it turns the green liquid to a deep red when it reacts to the brake dust.
