KOSEI Wheels??

Is anybody running the Kosei KI TS 15 pound wheels on a 2009 JCW? I'm wondering if they fit over the Brembo Brake Calipers. Also I'm wondering if I could still use my 215/45/17 tires on these wheels.

I really like the fact that they only weigh 15 pounds and still look great on a Mini.

According to Tirerack's web site they will fit. I've run both the O.Z. Ultraleggera (16 lbs) and the O.Z. Alleggerita (14 lbs) on my JCW with no problems. But I do like the price on the Kosei's

I've been running exactly that set up on my 2009 JCW. I love the look and the wheels with Dunlop Dirrezza Z1 star specs in 215-45-17's is awesome on the autox track.

I've got them as a my winter wheels for my JCW. More clearance than the stock Challenge wheels. You're in Florida so it's probably not an issue for you, but the Kosei's are a notoriously "soft" wheel that is easily bent even by moderate potholes impacts with low profile (45 or less) tires. I've bent a couple of them over probably 5 winters on 2 different vehicles. Not badly, the tire beads were undamaged and they maintained pressure, but the outer edge of the wheel had been flattened out of round. Some people might not have noticed or cared, but I replaced them. At their cost, I still felt ahead of the game. If you're not dealing with New York's pothole ridden roads in winter, it's probably not an issue for you.

I am also running 17x7 Kosei K1 Ts wheels on the street. No clearance issues at all. For autocross, I run Rota Torques in 17x7.5 and 235-40 Direzzas. They require a 15mm spacer with the lowered suspension, but are a great autocross combination..
