"Relative Torque" gauge

Does anyone who has the relative torque gauge see any resemblance in its behavior to that of a boost gauge? To me, it behaves very much like what I remember seeing in my old car with the vacuum end of the gauge clipped at zero.

What exactly is this gauge measuring? Is there really a strain gauge on the drive line? Or are they perhaps calculating it based on, I donno... Boost?

Just curious...

No doubt that it's useless, but I was curious what it was measuring. I don't believe it is measuring g-force though. That would be the lateral g meter (unless this measures the longitudinal g-force?). It really behaves like a boost gauge though...

In any case, I was at the dealer looking through the Mini accessories, and there was a photo with the dual gauge cluster. One of the gauges was a boost gauge. The parts manager didn't know anything about it, but said he would look into it for me.

I was so stunned to see it in there that I forgot to look at what the other one was. Hopefully oil pressure. :-)

I think the other one may be (used to be) Volts... also useless lol.

The torque one will act kind of like boost but its usually measured between 2 rotating shafts i think... not exactly sure what good it is, but hey.

Probably better off just getting some Flex-Pods and adding some gauges you want

I have the temp gauge and the G. meter gauge. The G. meter is for the cornering force. I would have liked a oil gauge of some sort, insted of the G. meter. The temp gauge is nice, the car runs around 100 - 105 c most og the time(the red zone is around 115 c).
