KleenWheels

The day I brought my Mini home 4 years ago, I put KleenWheels brake dust shields on. I have never regreted it. I am still running the original rotors after 45000 miles. I do take these shields off when I do a track days or such. My first MOTD, I didn't remove the shields, but I also was a newby and didn't run the Dragon that hard way back then. The shields work great for day to day driving. I can go weeks before having to wash my white wheels, and then it more road dust than brake dust. I know some people will claim that these shields hold in the heat and will warp your rotors, mine have never warped.

With the caveats you include - shields are probably not a bad idea. But folks need to do exactly what you do - take them off before "performance" driving where the brakes are gonna get a workout.

performance brakes = Brake Dust

I run Carbotech XP8s for track duty and street use during the driving season months, not any better on dust!
