2009 JCW 0-60's
It seams every article i read about the car uses the same factory data. Has anyone taken theirs to the strip yet? or at least G-teched it? I find it hard to beleive it does exactly 0-60 in 6.2 seconds..
Wasn't there a thread about MotorTrend or R&T testing the Clubman and getting 5.7sec? Would put the coupe @ about 5.6 - 5.5sec. (did a quick search... 2 other threads referencing MT, one the topic of 0-60 w/a link to the review)
My CarTest2000 simulations using measured "@ the tire's contact patch" data then performing simulations based on that, taking every load & resistanc variable you can imagine in a customizable parameterized fashion, put the theoretical ideal @ 5.3sec. My personal experience is the car can't hook-up in 1st like a RWD can due to weight transfer & it being FWD crivetrain, so 1st never makes use of the full capabilities of the power available. Which explains the loss of a few tenths from the ideal.

I think it's a decent alternative to sat radio as far a quality goes (minus the nation-wide coverage). HD radio does loose reception a lot tho; but the radio does a good job of dropping to regular radio siganl when that's the case and stepping back-up to HD when it gets the signal back. (The sound quality is like night and day between the two.) I turn the channels off that don't have a standard signal on the same channel backing it up; the music's to intermittent.
The premium sound is pretty ok. I think the Bose system in my C43 is 'better' in regards to engaging sound at times. But the Alpine based system I put in my Jeep blows both out of the water in both quality and intensity. I wanted a fully integrated system with the NAV & Radio console with this car however, so I opted for the 'full factory montey'.
