E-Differential Lock and DTC

E-Differential Lock and DTC
Driving around on wet roads the other day, I found that it's pretty easy to lose traction under acceleration in first and second gear without the E-Diff engaged. DTC mode is a great improvement over standard (standard mode is useless in this car to the point of being dangerious when it cuts off power as you try to accelerate quickly into traffic) but I wonder why no E-Diff in DTC mode. The E-Diff lock does a great job in the rain and I like that they have an EDL-only mode for track use, but I'd rather not be deactivating the anti-skid functions for normal street driving. I wonder if these modes are mutually exclusive on other BMW applications such as the i-series or if they have an intermediate mode that utilizes both.

I was actually never sure that they were mutually exclusive. I don't have much experience with DTC off, so don't know the "feel" of each and can't say for certainty. Traction Control has saved my hide (& car) way too may times -- on a board I frequent some people make a post that the traction control finally flickered for them " is that ok for the car?" while if I go an hour w/o it flickering for me that's rare! -- so I know my driving style should "keep it on".
