Anyone mirror mount their radar detector??
Hello
My sister just got a 2019 Countryman S and I just got the new Uniden R7 for my Q50S 400 Red Sport. So she wanted my old V1. I got her a mirror mount which fits perfectly and an invisicord. I searched this forum and found someone that did it on a Mini Cooper. I tried the same leads and it didnt work.
Here are some pics, please help
Thanks!!
This is the one I found for the Cooper. It didnt work. It looks similar to what my sister shows...
This is how it looks on my sisters Countryman.

I did this on my '18. I'll have to check my pics to see which pins I used. I remember it being VERY finicky until I got it just right..
....
OK, sorry, I just checked my pics, and I didn't seem to take any of the wiring parts. I do recall that I used a multimeter to makes sure 12v was not present when the car was off. After starting up, I made sure the same circuit was on with 12v. The connections with the supplied pins for the mirror mount/wiring kit were 'universal' but not optimal for this install. Try different sizes. I think what I ended up doing to get it to work was to carefully bend the pins so they would have a better chance of touching the wires inside the large black connector. I think the problem is the pins are too thin, and although they push into the slots, they don't actually touch the metal contacts inside very well.
Good luck.
