Findmate

Anyone played with their silly Findmates yet?

Is there ANY actual connection, figurative or otherwise, to our cars? Are they exclusively linked to our phones via the MINI Connected app? Could I give them away to another person?

The only thing potentially useful I heard was to throw one into your checked baggage and you can keep an eye on where the luggage is until you pick it up.
I agree, it seems to be quite silly.

Maybe put it on your drunk "mate" next time you're out on the town and worried of leaving him behind at the end of the night.

Exactly the usage I was thinking of!

I find Findmate offensive. I can't help think that they removed some significant feature from the Countryman, and then they added Findmate as a guilty after-thought.

Incidentally, we do NOT have the iDrive feature that reminds of the phone being left in the armrest charger. 😡

I slipped it on my laptop and my iPhone will chime before I get in the car if I left it behind. Can't think of anything else it would be useful for other than luggage or something else.

Sure would be nice if we could get an update on iDrive software to include message that we left our phone behind! Still hoping a coding update will come out in the future to return the HUD back to orange!!!!

Have you noticed how much glare there is on the HUD on sunny days? This was NOT the case in my F56. Not quite sure why it should be different on the F60.

Yes, it's annoying I just put the HUD down most of the time.

I am noticing glare generated by the base trim around the bottom of the HUD. This should have been designed with more of a flat matte finish. It reflects too much light as is.

I'm thinking maybe the HUD screen ought to be less transmissive.
