Why non-functional hood scoops?
Ive always wondered why Mini's come with non-functional hood scoops.
Coming from STi's the hood scoop was always a functioning piece. Is the scoop more of a look or was it actually functional at one point but just on there now for tradition sake?
Just curious.

I see it also like that, a "fake scoop" is a fake
The 2nd Generation R56, was open and pulled out hot air, a fact certainly not know here to all, as they believe it has a suction function
On the F56 the scope has only one function, to offer a non function carbon JCW replacement for optic grease monkeys .
On My F56 i replaced the 20 Kg hood against a 1:1 copy of the cooper hood.
This improves drag and weight

Its sofar only a copy of the Cooper hood, the respective tools i made with an "Prototype Shop" its available in CFK or carbon. Together with other body parts: rear lid, Bumpers Marokolon, it assures further 50 Kg down. The parts will get sold with a complete car or to "friends" as single parts.
For the hood we will incorporate alternative inserts to do some vent- sections, however i tent to the original look and the punch of low weight and 269 HP with MINI Factory warranty.

When I saw first pictures of F56 Prototype you could see the indicator section, with the side vent bead. Today i think that this design is only to fit DIY Side Scuttles, to make a decent bug.
