LCI Headlight Retrofit on Pre-LCI LEDs

Hello all,

Looking for some advice here. I tried researching this but it seems most people are looking to do this swap on a halogen car, and not on an LED car. My understanding is that the headlights are the same between F55/56/57 and F54, so I'm posting on the F56 thread for more visibility.

I'm trying to figure out if I can swap my Pre-LCI LEDs over to these LCI LEDs without too much trouble. From what I gather, Pre-LCI to LCI LED is plug and play, but requires some coding.

Could anyone advise me on if that's true, what that coding is, and if these LCI headlights would work with my Pre-LCI?

Thank you!

Looking at the wiring diagrams, I'd be curious if any coding really needs to be done:

I seem to recall the coding had to do with the DRL/Turn Signal switching but I can't remember for sure, but they appear to operate differently.

This post on the F56 forum says LED to LCI LED is plug, code and play, but doesnt say WHAT coding it needs.

2016 JCW w/ LEDs

Was thinking about the same for my JCW. Pretty sure NDAL can code. But I haven't been able to find some used LCI lights anywhere. New is about $4K because there's $700 each in core price since you're not swapping out the same lights.
