the little yellow motor light comes on so I plug in my dongle, put phone in airplane mode (bluetooth on) go for a ride. motor running, I fire up Bimmerlink, go to Service Reset & there's a red line on Brake Fluid, so I hit Reset, & it goes through all gyrations and says you're all reset, but the red line NEVER goes away ! it's NOT reset, the little yellow motor light stays on. What's Up With That ? thanx

 

The yellow motor light is not a service warning, its a check engine light.
Check engine fault codes, and respond with code number.

 

my google app. of Bimmerlink when I try to do some stuff it says purchase Full Version of Bimmerlink WTF ? when I go in to google it says installed. how can I check engine fault codes ?

Bimmerlink on my iPhone has a restore purchases button, that checks online, and reactivates the purchase.

 

I deleted Bimmerlink from phone, changed some settings, re-D/Led Bimmerlink, changed settings, BOOM ! got full working copy ! threw 2 codes, #1 for brake fluid - no consequence, #2 = 12B304 about lambda heat something in catalytic converter. threw it in the garbage can. I have Magnaflow 3" S.S. exhaust & headers (I think) NO CAT. CONV. ! (I think) when it's up in a few mo.s to get rear brake pads done I'll check. fired it up & No Check Engine light. took me 1/2 a day but Bimmerlink & Dongle paid for itself. do it a couple more times I'll be the wretched king, whew ! what a major-league pain in the *** ! I am learning the ways of BMW/MINI

 

Brake fluid low?

You dont have headers, not on turbo, but your catless downpipe will set off a sensor code.

 

not the last time I checked, will check soon. I'll bet catless downpipe caused the problem. will put that on List !

 

brake fluid only 1 fl. oz. from Max - now that I know Bimmercode is working I'll run sevice re-set & maybe I'll do it right this time since I busted my cherry on Check Engine Light. I think getting the code & throwing in the garbage can will do the trick.this Biden/Gas sitch. pisses me off. At least I gotta Mini, but I run 93 octane & I'm gonna start mixing my own water/methanol for injecting. $54 for 4-Gal. @ Summit or 9 Gal.if I mix myself. yeh, catless downpipe sounds about right. wonder how often this will occur ? 1 click of button & I go into Acc. mode I get Mini-face & word SERVICE underneath, I think if I run Service Re-set, that will disappear & line in Brake Fluid will go also.

 

no such luck on SERVICE & Mini-face, still there & blue line on Service Re-Set still there on Brake Fluid. can't throw it in garbage like Check Engine Light. it occurs on 1 flip of toggle & goes away on 2nd flip (start) it does bug me. you would think the Blue Line & ServiceFace would go away when it goes through all the gyrations in Service Reset. wonder WTF ?

 

As I mentioned in a reply the "yellow" engine light on your dash is NOT a service indicator, its a fault indicator.
So you need to tread the fault codes, fix the problem that caused the code(s). then you can erase the code(s)

 

I erased the CEL & it was from a catless downpipe ( no cat. conv.) that isn't problem. the Service & Mini-face is from the Brake Fluid in Service Reset according to Bimmerlink. it did throw a code & I'll try to hunt it down & report back. it also has a message whuich I'll write down.

 

What is "Mini Face"??
