Rear strut boot fell down

Hello everyone.
I have 2015 MCS F56 and today I heard some strange noise from the right side rear wheel area.
Went to check it out and found that the strut boot dust cover was loose and fell down.
I tried to push it back up and in but looks like I may have to take the wheel off.
is this something that I would need replace or if the booth looks perfectly fine and in good condition, can it be just push back up?
I’m attaching picture of the strut and marked the whole part down fell down on the strut.
many ideas welcome.
thank you.

You could do one of two things... remove it, or add a little bit of lube/grease to the bump stop and try to twist it up into place. Is the bump stop still in recognizable condition? I would be curious why it fell down or came off...

Thank you for the input. I’m away for the weekend so won’t be looking into fixing it any time soon (work from home, and don’t drive much these days). I’ll try take pictures of the actual thing next week and post on here. And yes the bump looks rather good. Has slight color to it just like the one I posted here with the picture.

I don’t really see anything wrong there. I would spray a little bit of WD-40 on the top of the bump stopper, twist it back into place, and forget all about it.

If i remember these have a little tab on the plastics that slides up the rod and just holds. Or it might just be held up with the bump and the pressure on the bump sponge material

Slide it up and see what happens
