Corrupt USB Port

Hello All,

My usb port on my 2014 F56 has gone haywire. It is like my old 2011 macbook where when I plug my iphone into it, it will register on the phone as charging and then stop then charging again on a regular interval cycle nonstop. I have tried different phones and different usb cords to no avail which just leaves me with the USB port itself. I've tried turning off and on the engine to reset the electronics in the car but 9/10 times, the USB port gets stuck in this loop. Please let me know if theres a fix for this.

What problems were you having with the original? Let me know how the install goes.

As the manual states, the USB port is for transfering data (updates, etc) and playing music. It is not a charging port.

Yes but for 6 years there has never been a problem and recently, it connects and disconnects my phone causing it to constantly vibrate and play the apple charging tone on 5 second cycles which now makes the usb port totally useless. It might not be a charging port but it needs to be useful for something and turning my phone into a musical instrument isn't it.

The charging station was in the consiole arm rest. MINI was always behind with phone models. Many wired an USB male plug. Your car battery may be getting weak. The CPUt shuts off some accessories when this happens.

Thank you for the advice. Shame to hear they're behind on the tech. I will check the battery output as well, it is getting old....

Your welcome. Strange things start to happen with old batteries. Been driving MINI's for 20 years now...
