I have a 2015 Mini cooper coupe F56 with the basic lcd screen radio.
I've scavenged the outer edges of this forum and google and it's difficult to see what exactly I need to install an aftermarket radio and have come up nearly empty-handed.

So far, I've collected this:

$100 aftermarket retrofit kit to fit in a new radio-

I'm not a Radio expert but I am mechanically inclined and have installed a radio in a much simpler system. Am I on track here? Is there a more inclusive list of parts someone has somewhere?

 

i haven't seen an aftermarket head unit that can check oil....

 

I'm taking care of all of my maintenance on regular intervals and monitor everything.
