New DCT transmission details?
Hi everyone. I am starting to look at new F56 models (coming from 17 F55). For 2020 in the U.S., the new cars are using the 7 speed DCT instead of the old tried-and-true 6 speed auto. How are people liking the new DCT? What does the owners manual say about fluid change intervals? When I google for details, I get nothing. Not even much in the way of technical details. I know it's been around for a few years, just not in the U.S.
Would the DCT cause anyone NOT to buy a new 2020 (vs. say a leftover 19 with the 6 speed slushy)? If so, why? Thanks!

you're probably going to find more info if you look into the VW and Audi DSG technical literature. They got started a bit earlier with the dry application. It's not new technology, and variations couldn't be that expansive. So if you look into those, you may find enough semblance to the information to help you decide.
