F55/F56 MCS Works 210
MCS Works 210
Hi guys I’ve been struggling to find some info online and thought I would post it here. Sorry if this sounds like a noob question.
I have a 2018 MCS with the Works 210 package meaning I have the jcw pro exhaust with Bluetooth valve along with the jcw tune. My question is, when I compare the exhaust note with others that have the same exhaust mine just sounds a super off.. The main difference I have noticed is that the pops and bangs are non existent even in sport mode.
Any ideas on what could be the cause of this?
Thanks!

My 2019 sounds pretty sedate when not in sport mode. Revving the motor w/ the valve open on the exhaust and it mid mode produces almost zero burbles Switching to sport and that changes a lot.
First thing I checked when I took delivery of mine to to ensure the engine tune was installed. I forget which screen it's displayed on, but but here is a link to a thread discussing that display and the JCW tune.

Also check to ensure exhaust valve is opening completely.
When you switch from Mid mode to Sport, you should also notice a distinct change in the car's behavior. If for some reason, it's not actually switching that could be the problem.
Put the car in Sport, open the exhaust valve and drive the car in manual mode. Get the RPM's up and take you root off the gas pedal, and let the engines brake the car's speed, you should be getting plenty pf pops, farts and burbles. If you don't I'd visit the dealer.

@USA-RET First of all thank you so much for the link. I am now 90% sure that the ECU tune was not done properly by my dealership.
Unfortunately I do not have the driving excitement software installed on my car... even in sports mode with valve open and engine warm I don’t notice a difference in the exhaust note compared to mid mode, never heard pops and bangs from my car since day 1.
My question is how should I announce this to my dealer? I’ve been driving the car for a whole year and I’m super mad about this situation. I have an appointment at the end of the week where they will take it in and check the ECU.

Explain to your dealer that you believe the flash tune was not installed or did not take on our car. Since you paid for the tune, they should be able to perform another tune. I honestly thought that all Mini's had the screen that showed the engine performance. If you do not have the software installed perhaps they can show you on their equipment that the tune is or is not installed.
Anyways thanks for the feedback and I will update once I get the car back!
