Just hit 1200 miles on my British Racing Green Mini and couldn't be happier. Every day, I look forward to getting up early, hopping in the Mini and flipping that toggle switch. It's my 007 fix of the day!
My driving routine is going on the New Jersey Turnpike every day for work and the Mini handles it perfectly. The three cylinder engine is more than capable of keeping up with any traffic situation. Whether I am passing cars or merging - there is plenty of power on tap to get me through. Some people have asked me why didn't I buy the Cooper S - four cylinder. I actually prefer the clean lines of the three cylinder than the four. I am not a big fan of the front bumper cover with the two square air cutouts at the bottom and I also do not like the dual center exhaust in the back. I also preferred the seats in the basic Mini, as I find them much more comfortable. I have never liked wings, scoops, body kits, bolt-ons or extra bolstered seats on any car for that matter. Simplicity is my favorite recipe.
On a rainy day the wipers do an excellent job of keeping the windscreen clear and it handles very well on wet roads too. The 16 inch Pirelli Cinturato P7 all season are A-OK as far as I am concerned. They absorb the potholes on the NJ Turnpike just fine and provide some really good traction. Noise level is low too. I am very happy with them. I find that 16 inch wheels are the sweet spot for comfort and handling in NJ.
We had a couple of 100 degree days here in NJ and the A/C worked flawlessly. The Mini cooled off quickly and the gas mileage was still great.
$16 bucks that holds my phone magnetically. Peel and stick. Easy peasy. The Blue Tooth phone quality is crystal clear and works with my LG Android flawlessly.
The overall build quality and materials are excellent as well. Other cars in the same price class feel flimsy by comparison. Where other cars feel substandard, the Mini feel substantial.
Can't wait to take it on a road trip. Two thumbs up.

Have about 21,000 miles on my 2019 F57 Cooper. I, too, wanted the less complicated styling of the Cooper vs. Cooper S, and I'm plenty happy with the performance of the 3-cylinder. I've had fast cars, cars that are way faster than even a JCW. The overall package of the Cooper is what sold me on it (I also happen to have the sport seats in my car, which I prefer).
