Rear view Mirror size

I've noticed that since I've traded in my 2016 MCS for my 2017 JCW that the mirror has become a kind of blind spot for me. I notice it more when going through backroads, but today I noticed I couldn't see a pedestrian I knew was there due to this weird little blind spot.
I don't know what the change from year to year is, but it's enough to post about it.

Anyone know what I mean? Know if there's a small mirror out there that might alleviate this? Am I crazy?

Which mirror do you have? The basic version where you flip the day/night switch or the other one? You can check realoem.com for part number changes. You could go back to the old manual one if you have the electric version. You might want to swap with someone.

I noticed it while I was on the Dragon. Making right turns there was a large blind spot that was caused by the mirror. I had to lean over to see the road. I have the auto dimming mirror.

Totaled my '17 56S because of it. The bigger mirror will hide an entire car coming from your right at 45 degrees. I was turning left (5 MPH) and never saw the other car (55 MPH) until after it hit me. You will also notice it at 4-way stops. A car from your right will suddenly appear in front of you. A BMW chat group thinks it usually happens with guys that are 6'0" to 6'3". Shorter guys sit a little lower than the mirror and taller guys don't fit too well in the bimmers. My '19 JCW was bought with the smaller mirror and I crank the seat all the way down.
