For anyone else following this thread: El-Grunto stopped by here at CravenSpeed and we found that his shifter housing was warped, causing the inside diameter of the housing to be smaller. It was only a touch smaller, but enough to cause the binding.
We milled down a custom bottom clip, and solved!

Very cool! How did you determine it was warped? I'm thinking of taking sandpaper to the bore of my housing, if the shifter doesn't loosen up itself soon enough.

Yup! My Elle is just a little special it seems. They also took measurements on the diameter of the shifter housing to make adjustments on the clip going forward. The shifter now centers and feels 100x better than before - so smooth. I also picked up The Big Pair since I was down there because, hey, it's tax free in OR.

Sorry to bump up an old thread but I'm having the same issue (CS short shifter w/ pro clip). I have the screws on but not even finger tight levels, I'm afraid after a while they will start falling out. It's so tight and hard to move that the shifter just stays in whatever position I've left it in. I took out 2 of the screws and left the rest at the below finger tight levels and it still does the same thing but at least it's slightly easier to shift.

Also, unexpected, but my OEM shift **** just pops off easily now. Happened while I was driving so that was not cool...

Glad you did! We can get you sorted. I'll have Jake cut further down a pro clip for you, and we'll get a new shift **** adapter for your OEM ****.

If you can send me an email to support@cravenspeed.com with your details we can get you taken care of.
