Post OEM warranty repair cost vs CPO warranty
Looking at a 2014 MINI Hardtop, 1.5 turbo and 6 speed manual with 70k kms and have the option to add Platinum Warranty Coverage (4 year, unlimited kms)? Basic Launch package with Adaptive Suspension and no NAV. Full dealer maintenance history and CarProof and the F56’s appear to have a better reliability that R models.
What repairs have you had, and cost, after the OEM warranty expires that CPO extended warranty bight have covered?

Owned an 07 S from 2007 thru 2013 ... it was my daily driver
It had one issue during that entire time - needed the thermostat housing replaced - only time it saw a dealer or mechanic for other than prepaid maintenance. After prepay expired I did my own oil filters and brake pads/rotors.
buying an extended warranty is a gamble. You are betting that the cost of needed, and covered repairs will exceed the cost of the warranty. The warranty company is only in business because they believe this to NOT be true ..... I stopped buying them long ago as most consumer groups agree they are a bad investment. If you can not afford a repair and burying the warranty cost in a loan payment helps, that's a justification but IMO a better plan is to establish sufficient savings to cover a repair and draw interest on the $.

Only 16000 miles on the car. Other than that no issues. No idea what that would cost, but you probably don't have that in a manual transmission anyway.
Does the warranty cover clutch replacement? That might be the biggest number you are looking at. What are the costs involved with the options?
