I'm new here, so I hope I'm doing this right. After a sudden temeraturet drop (85 to 45), my tpms warning symbols came on indicating all 4 tires were low on my 2015 Mini Cooper S convertible. After inflating to proper pressure, I though I would have to reset the system. Nope. Started her up, no warnings. Everything I read or watched said a reset was necessary. I've only had the a month, and am in the "learning curve" phase. LOVE the car! Go kart on rails!

 

I usually had to reset mine also (MIni and BMW both). But have never had all 4 tires show low at the same time (only one at a time). Maybe after re-inflating them, TPMS corrected itself w/o a reset after sensing correct pressure across the board.

Unlikely you have a TPMS issue, but you can always check it by de-flating one tire (not flat, just low) and see if you get a low pressure warning. Then re-inflate and see if system clears by itself, or if you have to do a rest manually. . Not something I think is necessary, but something you could do if you are really concerned.

 

Yeah, just reset it through the radio, takes 2 minutes. I had to do mine on sunday when it got to 34 here

 

I just started her up, and everything went back to normal. Sorry jamb says inflate to 39 lbs. Seems kinda high, but what do I know. I put in 38.

Its all temperature related. Once you get another cold stretch it will kick off a warning. Nothing big, just reset it and drive on

 

IME if the alert was just for low pressure, when I topped off the system would clear itself

only when a wheel had been removed (flat fixed ... wheel change) did I need to do a reset. Sometimes a drive around the block is needed to get the system to recognize all is back to normal. A reset won't hurt ... but IME is not usually necessary.
