iPhone XS Max in '19 (Post LCI) armrest?

Still waiting for my newly built JCW to wander across the Atlantic.

Does anyone have the spec' for the maximum width phone that will fit into the charger in the armrest of the post-LCI MINIs?

I have an 8+ and it does not fit in the armrest charger. Width is fine without a case, however the length is too long for the sliding bracket which activates the charger.

Also any of the PLUS model - 6, 7, 8 so far will only fit in the click and drive phone holder from MINI without a case. I ended up buying an iPhone X just to say in the car. Still rocking my iPhone 7 Plus in my pocket.

Thanks to evancuster and co0p3r for your answers. The XS Max is slightly smaller than the Plus phones, almost certainly not enough to make a difference. Phooey.

I have the iPhone 8+ and as the other said, it won't fit in the armrest charger, but it's close -- very close. I'd guess that a device maybe 1/4" - 1/2" shorter should fit.

iPhone XS Max is 6.20" long.
iPhone 8 Plus is 6.24" long.

So, the XS Max is 0.040" shorter. For those of you who prefer fractions that's roughly 2/3rds of 1/16th of an inch shorter.
