Help! 2018 cooper, water getting into rear trunk area
Been to the dealer twice. They say its the rubber seal on the hatch that needed to be sealed with sealant. I told them that the water is running down the channels along the rear hatch along the tail lights and then at the bottom where the water can run between the bumper and the body it should drain out but it dosen't it is running along the inside of the bumper or something and dripping in through that rear plastic vent that is just below the latch on the inside panel below the bottom of the rear hatch.
anyone experience this, is there a fix? dealer even told me that it wouldn't leak when the rear hatch is closed. BS it still does. I think it has to be some hole behind the bumper where it shouldn't be getting in and they need to remove the bumper cover but they just don't want to.
HELP!!

I caused this and fixed it on my mini. Sounds like the same issue.
There are hard drainage pipes coming from the sunroof trough. they connect to rubber pipes going to the hatch area (outside the hatch gasket)
There are 2, one on each side.
you will have to drop the headliner a bit and get in there with a pair of long-nose pliers. There is a pull tab right on the rubber hose.
Figure out which side is leaking and pull the sunroof surround, grab handle, snap-clips, and the rear pillar plastic.
That was my issue. If the rubber tubes are split, I don't think they would be expensive, you would still have to do all of that to replace them.
I hope this helps.
