The straight exhaust pipe option on the JCW exhaust lowers back pressure which increases HP. Literally bypasses muffler. There are others options for a similar setup. You may want to check other threads.

Dinan Elite F55
I have had Dinan elite on my F55 for 3000 miles. I use sport mode amd put trans in sport mode. I’m very impressed at the power this car has. Torque is crazy. Cars pulls like my vette with 411’s and 383 stroker engine. No other mods. I think it’s the best Dollar per HP you can buy.

The JCW tuning kit is a tune plus new exhaust which is why it's more money. The JCW tuning kit will up you to 210 HP and does feel a lot better than the stock S and the exhaust sounds good too. I got tired of pushing the button to open the valve all the time and disconnected the wire at the bluetooth module now mine is open all the time.

The Dinan Elite will add even more HP on top of the JCW tuning kit, 40 HP if I remember. The Elite does cover your warranty so you have the piece of mind where the Sport does not.

If you have the JCW tuning kit installed you MUST get the JCW Elite. If you have the S you would get the standard Elite.

I was all set to put the Dinan elite on my 2019 Mini S. I read that there are codes thrown with that tuner, and being a simple man, do not want to go through what I did with my 2017 BMW M240i. The codes I had when using it caused me to eventually have Dinan replace my Elite .v1 with .v2. No cost to me, and my BMW dealership was stellar in making this change transparent to me. It was just a PITA to have to bring the car in for the transition.. My Mini S has the JCW tune it is plenty peppy for me and is BMW backed. Dinan makes good stuff with a piggy back warranty, but you pay for that (at a premium).

The cars produced today are magnitudes better than what we had back in the 70's 80's and 90's. If one is looking for the maximum you can get out of a stock car, than a power module is one way to go. Just ask yourself if the gain is worth the potential issues that may occur. My M240i gained .4 of sec in 0-60 which is hardly noticeable when sitting in the driver's set.

Far be it from me to tell you what you should do. Just know going in, that everything isn't necessarily sunshine and roses.

Dinan Elite
Love the power I got from my turner. Dinan sent me a
new turner and harness. I used dielectric grease in connectors and the engine code hasn’t come back. Plus I have a new tuner. Anyone looking for a turner for F55?

I chose to have my ECU reprogrammed on my 2014 JCW Coupe for about $500. It took him about an hour and it worked perfectly. He said that half the Minis he did this to were for people who had previously bought a "piggy back" tuner box they installed themselves. My 2020 car has way more horsepower than I need so there's no need for any more of that stuff.
