Hood Trim

Anyone know... The black silver trim piece at the rear of the hood, just in front of the windshield, how is it removed? Had a rock hit it a couple of days ago and it left a nice bend in the trim piece. I have a 2015 Cooper S 2 door. Thanks for the help.

It's just pushed on - raise the bonnet and stand over driver mirror and pull off - be careful - it does bend easily and the chrome is hard to get back in correctly

Follow TWISTER's lead and also wet it with water as a lubricant. It's actually a 2 piece part and bends if you look at it. Chrome just peels away from the rubber but it is best to reinstall as a single piece unit. Ask why I know is because I PAINTED my chrome around the perimeter (chilli red) and it really gets favorable comments.
