Opinions on Rotating Tires

Hi,

I was wondering if there was a general consensus on rotating tires:
  • Do you rotate your tires?
  • Is it necessary?
  • How often do you rotate your tires?
  • What direction? (For example, back to front, same side)?
  • How does it affect ride and drive?

Thanks in advance.

These cars are torquey FWD. The fronts will wear out much faster than the rears.
I have a tread gauge and I will rotate when the difference between the front and back is 2/32. Currently the difference is 1/32. I will rotate front to back and keep the right ones on the right and left ones on the left.

3. Every 5000 miles whether they need it or not.
4. See attached chart. The arrows on the sidewall indicate directional or non- directional.
5. Even wear extends the life of the tire.
