3M install--not for the faint of heart...

I hate my new Mini getting rock chips. With it being so close to the ground, it's inevitable. So off to eBay I went and bought the 8 mil thick 3M clear for the hood.

At first I thought "It's not cut right", but after stretching it, soaping it, holding it while getting the bubbles out, I finally got it. It took me 2.5 hours and a LOT of patience Would have taken less time if I had more experience. All in all, came out OK for a little over $100.

Next, the bottom pieces! Those are going to be difficult.

You can barely see the line....3M clear goes from over the headlights to the bottom of the hood.

Hopefully no more hood chips!

Brave! I watched the guy at the dealership doing one, would never attempt it myself.

My job was far from perfect but it looks pretty good. They are a beast to do. Figure I'll learn how to do it....eventually. Mean time, no chips!

Looks good.

Its takes a good amount of skill to do the full clear bras. If you can do it fast your a professional. Good luck on the job.
