Never too old for mods. I know some 70-80 yr old guys who track there classic MINIs and they are always modding.

I did a brief intro a while back before I got my MINI. So I think it's time for a proper one. Way back sometime in the 80s I saw a Mini with a Union Jack on the roof. Ever since I've wanted one. It's not realistic for me to own a classic Mini as I don't have the means for the upkeep. So I've been eyeing the new gens for some time.
I decided on the 5 door because my hobbies require a little more space than the 3 door. I finally got my F55 justa a couple of weeks ago and have loved every minute in it. I can't stop looking at it and being obsessive about cleaning/detailing. I've never loved a car as much, so much fun. Every time I go around a curve I have a huge grin on my face.
Its not packed with a lot of options as I wanted to keep payments down. Later this month I'm going to have the windows tinted as I live in Southern California where the sun can be brutal. Eventually I'm planning on upgrading the wheels. Still trying to decide on whether to do side scuttles or not. Here it is with some proper photos:
F55 MINI
Electric Blue w/white top and mirrors
White bonnet stripes
Automatic (wanted manual but my knees prevented it)
Media package
Union Jack roof decal

Added:
Black jack interior accents
All weather floor mats
Grill badges

Great looking ride!! Love that color. Also love the 3 cylinder performance. Did the grille bars come already painted black?

I never cared much for the F cars. Then one day I got a wild hair and checked my dealers website and found a Thunder Grey CPO car that really caught my eye. Two days later the sales guy delivered it to my house and picked up my trade in. Really hated to part with my '07 because it took a long time and considerable cash outlay to get it like I wanted. It happened so fast that I took a beating on the trade in. They got my car with all the aftermarket parts and mods intact, but since it had 129K+ miles I was looking for something that I wouldn't spend so much time and money on routine maintenance.(still on the original clutch)
Long story short... I got a '15 MCS with 6K miles and a 5 year 75K warranty that is optioned pretty much as I would have ordered it anyway. The sport suspension is very nice for a factory suspension. Anyway, this is a pic of my '07 as it was traded.

I have since added Cravenspeed CAI, Big Pair chassis braces, and a NM Engineering Power Module. I'm liking this car more and more every day!

I like the red and the black. The F56 is really quite a car, and although I completely understand that there is a lot of love for the older generations, and we did give up some things to get here, it can shine all by itself against the other current auto offerings. There are faster cars (GTI), there are more precise cars (Fiesta ST), but for me the MINI is the only one that lets me pretend to be a grown up, but also pushes all my buttons, and the driving position is like the holy grail in my opinion.

Ordered mine today

Hello everyone.

I ordered mine today - a 4 door S in EB w/ the roof and wheels in black. My order might go into production this week.

I had been looking around to replace my aging daily beater, which is still running fine but getting boring (it is a Toyota) and had a few candidates to consider, including Mazda 3, Nissan Juke and Mini. I had some free time this past Sat so decided to drive around and see each of those cars. A Mini dealership was my last stop that day.

I had been interested in the Countryman as well but as soon as I saw one at the dealership, I said No to myself. It was A LOT larger than I had expected. I instantly fell in love with the EB. It was sunny and the color just looked gorgeous. Then I hopped in a non-S car and test drove it through some twisty back roads and highway. It was my first time in a Mini and I was VERY MUCH impressed by (a list could be 2-page long...). Driving was engaging and super FUN, and it sounded awesome! Pretty much everything was what I had been looking for as a replacement, so I told my sales advisor that I would buy one, put a deposit down and drove back home. One remaining task was to decide what color I wanted on the roof and wheels, so I spent A LOT of time on the net, looking at photos and watching videos on Youtube all day on Sun. After having developed some severe dry eyes, I finally made up my mind.

Anyways, this forum seems to be another great place to hang out for drier eyes and I would like to thank you for your expertise in advance and look forward to my own contributions.

Thanks for reading this long introduction.

Cheers

Welcome. And another EB color. Congrats. I think the EB is making a comeback from the good old Gen 1 R53 days. Post up some pics when you get it.

Love the 2 tone mirrors. Were those aftermarket slip overs? Grille rounds out the theme nicely and the scuttles are a nice touch. By the way your '07 was in really nice shape.

Thanks. The grill, mirror caps, and scuttles are all OEM JCW Pro parts. I've got a thing for red accents. As for the '07, I hated to get rid of it, but couldn't justify two Minis. I've got too many vehicles as it is.
