Nice ride. The 40K price still chokes me up. But then again my JCW Coupe cost that much but with fewer bells and whistles.

Awesome ride. I think you will be answering a lot of questions from admirers for quite some time to come.

Now what are you going to do for an encore?

Forgive me NAM, for I have sinned... I have coveted and had impure thoughts about my neighbor's MINI.

I really should have sold a kidney to scrape together the cash to go with leather seats and the JCW steering wheel.

They are absolutely softer than the regular leather. And they are getting even better with age. They are now 4 months in, look amazing, feel like the softest skin you can touch, and smell like a car that is doused in leather from dash to carpet.

I think you have to look past the price and understand the quality is amazing and the craftsmanship is such high level. They are hand tailored/sewn, and have such an artisan appeal. While no one can tell me what kind of leather "natural leather" is, I think it is nappa from BMW- as the steering wheel is the same feel and is "walk nappa" leather.

Here are some updated pictures to peruse. My favorite part is the patch sewn on the side of each seat. So much individual character!

As an update:

I am very meticulous, and noticed that some things were missing from my car. I was not sure at first, so I asked the dealer- but their logic was that if a car on the lot did not have it that I was crazy. So I went to Mini NA and escalated the issues.

1) I noticed the hand brake lever end was not chrome, yet I got the chrome line interior. When I looked into it, there was documentation on it for EU, but no one knew why it was not on the US version. So I found a parts diagram, and asked them, from the factory what do you need to do to get this part- they said have the chrome line interior, and I said I DO! They said, it is not on your window sticker, and I said I have the Flash pkg (which was discontinued) which has the chrome line interior. They were so puzzled, and I said send me the part! So they did, and the dealer installed it for free. Mini NA thought that maybe it was a mid year change since my car was one of the last 2015s off the line, but there was no documentation. You can see the difference in the first two pictures.

2) I noticed there was no under floor net on my adjustable cargo floor. When I asked the dealer, again they had no idea. I called Mini NA and they said that in NA they did not get this feature- but I did not buy that excuse! So I remember seeing online a video for new owners that showed this specific feature!!! I downloaded the video and sent it to them and said that they specifically said I had this feature if I had the storage pkg (which came in the fully loaded pkg via the prem pkg), and obviously I had that! So then it came to finding one. This time, they discovered through research that this feature was eliminated mid year from all storage floors. They could not order one, as it was discontinued, so they had to get one from a mini dealer in the mid-west that was sitting in their parts department. It took them a week to find one as they were calling all over the country. But I got it! You can see the difference in the third and fourth photos. The floor I had had no loops for the cargo net to clip into, but the new one does and the cargo net is great!

Mission accomplished!!

Really like that leather , its like Nappa but better, I really like the pipping and weaved leather.

Sounds like mid year changes, all the ones I have seen get the netting. Must have missed it in the dealer prep. When MINI pushes for a rush on a car in production, sometimes things get missed. Also they like to change things from year to year in including them or not. Check out the new models on lot that have not have dealer prep.

Sorry for not clarifying- The net is certainly available- the cargo floor with the lashings that the net attaches to is what they told me was no longer available. My cargo floor was absolutely flat on the bottom- no holes for the net to go into. Hence the nation wide search...

Weird- I see it on your site-

Are you positive that this part still has the holes in the bottom- meaning once more are ordered that they will not be flat? I noticed both of mine had the same part number (the original that i got to keep and the one that was found)

I'm starting to think that people at MINI NA will tell you anything they want without validating it- Because I feel dumb now, they made a big deal about it being discontinued and that they had to search for one!! Maybe this is some foreshadowing?

But at least I got the parts

All I can tell you is that all the 2016s on the lot that they compared it to had the flat floor without the net-

So if it was supposed to only be temporary (during the spring of 2015 when my car was built) then why are they still not coming with it? That seems like a while to me for them to not figure it out..

That's where I ordered my mini from-crown.

I like them a lot but I think this request for the net took them for a loop. At first they said if all of them on the lot had no net then that was just the way it was. I was persistent though and In the end I wound up getting it at least.

They were very nice about it and initially they ordered a regular cargo accessory net. I don't think they really got what I was talking about until I found that video.

I wish there was a mini genius on site. (Which i heard they are working on getting one) When I ordered the car the sales people had never even heard of the active driving assistant which is understandable since some of the features on my car were undocumented and it can get confusing. Hence why I think an on site genius could help with crazy people like me haha

Wish they (Crown) were closer, but the 640 mile drive for me was worth it. They are so much nicer to deal with than my local dealer, despite my loving the sales staff here, they are confined by the practices of Sonic Auto who own the franchise. They love to lowball nice trades. A genius would be handy given all the variables Mini offers. I'll call Crown and ask about that net seeing as though I have the Media, Sport, Cold Weather and Premium Package. Absolutely love the color on yours and the build sheet .....wow! Enjoy!

gwernerjr's attention to those trim details is great! Missing pieces would annoy me too, and eventually I would indeed notice them. Without reviewing his photos, I wonder whether the little storage net in the passenger footwell was included, and the 12v outlet in the trunk.

All other parts from the storage pack are there:

Rear 12v plug
Adjustable cargo floor
Net in passenger footwell
Side sunvisor
Back of front seat pockets
Rear seat storage position adjusters

Yeah I love crown. Luckily I didn't have to worry about a trade since I sold privately, but while they may not be the most fair on trades they are very fair on their pricing and also found me many incentives on top of their discount.
