Just don't like the headaches associated with Turbo powered cars. Heat is a big killer of all things mechanical and rubber. It is an easy way to get great performance in these government regulated times. I would prefer a good normal aspirated engine. I am 73 and am old school in a lot of ways. It 427 not 6.4 or what ever it is. LOL

Quote: YES! The $6,000 Starlight Headlining on the Wraith is one of my favorite options! (I work for the company )

The polished wood and diamond pattern/stitched leather is decidedly more Bentley, though.

+1 , need to make a retrofit kit

I prefer the anthracite one.

Quote: Showed pictures of new Clubman to wife. To Big likes her Mini Clubman or a New 2 or 4 door optioned to the hilt but no JCW. She like the mini Mini's. She said if she want a big she would drive the Expedition. Well so much for that idea.

Tom
Does she understand that it's the exact same size as a GTI?

Quote: Once again, all MINI engines going forward (for all F-series) are turbocharged. There is not a non-turbo option here in the United States.
Not in Europe either - even the 'One', a European model below the Cooper, has a three-cyl turbo, though of 1.2 not 1.5 capacity.

And you can't get a sidevalve motor either - curse this new dang-fangled technology.

I prefer the darker versions as well - however, the only Wraith in the shop that day had the Starlight headliner in Moccasin.

Thought that was Creme Light or Oatmeal, but I might just be seeing things .

Looks like cashmere black in the Car show photo, but you cant get that stock in starry night. Maybe Bespoke.

Do you have an Bespoke editions around ?

No Bespoke editions here at the moment.

The Black Cashmere Headlining is a separate option. It cannot be combined with the Starlight Headlining. However, RR will do anything you ask if you are willing to pay. I see leather and paint get matched to yachts and planes all the time. One Phantom was painted a color requested by the client that came from another company - RR had to get the other manufacturer's permission to use the paint for that one vehicle.

On the Wraith, Crème Light is VERY light. And Oatmeal is a rather disgusting (IMHO) flesh tone. It just looks odd.
Moccasin (in my photo) is very nice, Tan is a bit darker than that and Dark Spice (kind of a gray/brown) is one of my favorites.

But back on topic, it is clear that the new Clubman is being placed as a more premium or "halo" vehicle until the Superleggera arrives. And it is evident by the polished wood trim (surrounding the dashboard), power seats, diamond stitched leather and contrasting piping. One of the coolest things about the MINI is that it can be ordered to your exact specification and not many manufacturers allow that. It is what has won me back from VW every time I had strayed.

MINI caught a lot of flack from people when it offered the Goodwood special edition a few years back, but I have to say that these two brands (obviously both owned by BMW) are pretty close cousins. I like that the my MINI shares piano black surfaces, warning and i-drive interfaces, and chrome window lifts with its stately, older sibling.

I'm your age. A 427 is 7.0 liters. When manufacturers keep increasing engine sizes, the NHRA set a limit of 7 liters for S/S class cars. That's why you had 427 Chevys and Fords and 426 Mopars. A 1.5 liter Mini is only 92 cubic inches and a 2.0 is 122 ci.
