DDC stiff enough for track?

Close to ordering a new '16 Cooper to replace my '13 which had the factory sport suspension....since I can no longer get the fixed SS (unless I get the JCW exterior pkg for $$$$) I'm thinking of just ordering the DDC. Has anybody with this option tracked their car, and if so, how was it?

Not interested in going aftermarket--just factory.

Thanks--
Gary

I am in same boat but decided to order the JCW Pro suspension after reviews that the DDC was not stiff enough. Yes it is $1300 more than DDC, but for coil overs that are height adjustable and carry factory warranty, it isn't that bad of a price for what you get.

Good thought, but I don't really care about adjustability, and for that price I think you should also get sways and I don't think you do.

I had the dealer price out a complete fixed sport suspension and it came to a bit over $1500....not cheap either.

Pleasantly surprised by my dampers
Not a choice I would have made from factory, but getting the car second hand was too good a deal to pass on,
I've not done any track time in the SD, but judging it against a heavily modified LSD r53
That had plenty of track time as a bench mark
I Think starting from scratch I would keep DDC and get aftermarket Rear ARB, as best bang for buck, spend the cash on a jcw bbk, and camber + better tyres assuming it's still your daily driver for 98% of the time

Sport suspension springs are very firm. Stock rear sway is very wimpy. Still allows alot of body roll regardless of oem setup,base,sport,JCW...
