Best tire pressure for non-runflat 17"?

One of the first things I did was to dump the Hankook runflats and install the Michelin Pilot Sport A/Ss (non-runflats).

Tomorrow I'm off for a good driving vacation with a friend who's driving a Cayman - my Mini needs to be at its best. So I set my tires at the factory-recommended 38/35 and thought I was good to go. Then I called the tire installer to see whether the recommended PSI for conventional tires is different than for runflats. He "calculated" that I should be running 41/41 based on the tire's load rating.

I can understand that conventionals might be different (higher PSI) than runflat tires, but (1) 41 PSI seems to me like a high recommendation and (2) why would all four be the same front/back for conventionals but different front/back for runflats? (I'm talking 17").

In other words, where should I set my new Michelins?

I run ~35 all around in mine daily and on the track. Haven't had any issues and they are wearing evenly.

38F and 33R works for me

38F and 33R works for me with Michelin Pilot Super Sports 215/17s on a 2010 MCS. It sticks like it's on rails and never squeals or chirps. Ride is a nice compromise between handling prowess and comfort. I rotate at every oil change--at 5,000 miles. I love these tires!
