F55/F56 Can I fit this quick drain oil plug?
Can I fit this quick drain oil plug?
My friend turned me on to these awesome oil plug that let you twist a **** to release the oil without it getting all over your hands.

It sticks out 17/16ths of an inch from the pan, which seems to be about 11/16" more than the standard plug. How much clearance is there between the plastic cover and the oil pan?
Also, I see the oil plug is 16mm and takes a 17mm socket. I can't find a measurement for the filter drain plug. It takes a 13mm socket so is it safe to assume that it's 12mm?

Having just replaced the drain plug on my wife's 2011 JUSTA Clubman after she ran over a raised curb I would stick with the OEM plug. She managed to dent the pan and scrape the hell out of the plug. Had it been an after market plug It would have require a tow and maybe a new engine.. These thing are LOW I spent on hour replacing
various small bits she damaged or knocked off the bottom of the car. The dent in the pan wasn't bad enough to require replacement just sand it down, paint it and replace the plug along with the plastic shield on the passengers side and a few plastic fasteners and the Right Rear jack pad. Luckily no mechanical or suspension damage. Got a good look at the underside of the car, at my age I don't think i will be working on it or even modifying it other than 16" wheel and tires and paint the black wheel lip molding.

I can't tell you for your specific application, but I can say that I have been running them on 2 R53's, 2 Volvos, and will get another for my new R53.
They are awesome and I've never had a problem. Every car I own has and will have them.
