Curb monitor in reverse

So I have read that the right side mirror is suppose to tilt downwards when the car is in reverse to help keep from hitting the curb. However, my car doesn't do this. I've followed the directions in the owners manual. Has anyone else's worked?

The button switch that control the driver side or the passenger side mirror. The button needs to be on the Driver side position for it to work

It only works on cars with power-fold mirrors, so without that option, no luck.

You can adjust the right side mirror so you can see the curb and at the very top see the road behind when driving. Not the best, but it's been working for me since January.
