F55/F56 Hood stripes - on Sticker but not on car?
Hood stripes - on Sticker but not on car?
Brought home a new MCS yesterday and thought I'd compare the factory sticker with the actual car - just to review what options I'd bought. Everything's in order EXCEPT the sticker says "Bonnet stripes in white...Included" but there are no stripes at all on the hood.
So, now what? Am I correct in assuming the dealer or Mini owes me stripes, even though I signed the usual dealer document saying they owed me nothing further on the car?
Additional twist: I'm not sure I even want the hood stripes. If the dealer offers to install them, can I ask for something else instead (like mirror caps)? What's the approximate cost to the dealer to install hood stripes?
Of course this is more of a personal problem than a worthy Mini issue, but I'd like to get some of your thoughts on it. Thanks.

Did you custom order the car? If so, did you specify stripes, either separately or as part of a package? (I had to select 'no stripes' when I added the Fully Loaded package.)
Speculation and opinion follows.
If the car's supposed to have stripes and it doesn't, then you are owed stripes - and the cost of install should be absorbed by the dealer. The stripes are $100 I think, or a no-cost option in certain packages, so if anything you 'might' get a $100 credit toward something else. Call and talk to your salesperson. If the sticker shows stripes, and you don't have stripes, then the dealer should make you whole (i.e., offer you stripes). That's the only obligation they have, really.

If you want stripes, I would call them on it, though since you signed they are not obligated to owe you anything. It never hurts to ask though! If stripes were on the sticker, one would think they could do stripes for you.
Stripes from the factory are a no cost option under the Sport Package or the Fully Loaded package up until March builds, where it turned into a $100 option, regardless of option. Just don't assume that because they came from the factory from stripes, adding them back won't cost the dealer anything. The stripes themselves are relatively cheap wholesale, but it does cost them labor to put them on. Be reasonable, be nice and hopefully they can work something out for you
